LSD at Durham with Jocelyn. Felt crisp early on, but warmed up nicely to make for great running weather. Managed to take a spill at one point, bailing face first off the trail. Almost wonder if I could have been pushed. Despite my usual loathing of early mornings, I am slowly getting used to the early starts.

Mountain Biking (Scott Scale) 50:00 [1]

Took the boys out with their new bikes to Durham forest. Figured it would be a short 20-30 minute ride, but they were having such a blast, we ended up being out for 1.5 hours. Was so awesome to hear them literally squealing throughout, and to no surprise, they were even riding over the logs and some pretty technical sections. One major wipe out when Aiden blasted down a hill and lost the grip on his brakes....but at least some smaller trees slowed him down. :) They both left with the same amount of fingers and toes as they started with, so all is good.

Time deducted for stops and starts.

End of the week run with Jocelyn at the Rouge. This was a crazy funny run. Got off on some seldom used single-track...again....and got to have a lovely run through significant amounts of stinging nettles. At least the itching stopped, 15 minutes later. Switched up my shoes at Jocelyn's recommendation, and to my amazement...no foot pain. A bit warm, but otherwise a perfect evening for a run.

Last session in this round of Jocelyn's classes, and it was my favourite one yet. Lots of core and cardio, with a shit tonne of burpees in between. I don't think I have sweat more than I did in this class, and while doing some ridiculously nasty dragonfly TRX thingy, the water was dripping down my legs like I had just got out of the shower. Jocelyn mentioned an elite class starting in the fall (we are in the intermediate now). I can only imagine the level of suffering that will bring.

Nice little Waterfront Trail run with Judy after class. Felt like I haven't run in forever. Beautiful weather, and a nice reasonable pace. The only thing we could have done without, was the mass midges still floating around in clouds. Die midges! Die!

Strength and core workout with Jocelyn. She went with focusing on upper body, thinking my legs would be trashed from the weekend. Turned out my upper body was still the most fatigued. Found this one hard to get through tonight, without cutting corners or dying on the mat.
