Run 1:00:00 [3]

Took Aubrey out in the stroller. Took a circuitous route to Victoria Park, stopped so Aubrey could play at the park for a bit and have a snack (time excluded) , then back in the stroller for a run home. Good time had by all... except when Aubrey saw a wagon... which is her preferred mode of transportation. There was a tear or two when she realized she had to go back in the stroller.

Run 1:00:00 [3]

After a late night Monday (amphibian survey) and a late night Tuesday (what seems to have been a short bout of food poisoning, or similar) I finally got out this morning for a run.

Just ran some loops around Breithaupt, nice to be out... muggy, but nice. With work being very busy and life feeling 'full', it was nice to just let my mind wander while I ran the trails. This is why we run - lose yourself in rhythm and foot placement. So good.

Road Bike 2:45:00 [3] 71.3 km (2:19 / km)

Road ride with a new riding group. Rode from Wilmot to Stratford, had a quick stop at Balzacs, then back. Soooo hot today, but with the breeze it wasn't too bad... until we stopped! Pretty big headwind on the way out, nice tailwind on the way back though. Still working on rehydrating. ;)

Run 41:00 [3]

Run to and a few loops around the local Cemetary. Just an interesting change of scenery. Legs felt good and enjoyed a lovely morning.

Adventure Race race 6:24:00 [3]

I'm a little late to the party on this one and can't say much more than my team already has. Such a great day and fabulous company.

I made a few navigational blunders which I really shouldn't have (!) but otherwise had a good time at it. I was again reminded I need to spend more time doing some technical riding (let's just say there were a number of wipeouts, slips, walking and one broken map board). Funderstorm and Hermes were whizzing along - Hermes in particular was just killing it out there. Hermes had a bike injury, which thankfully didn't happen until almost the end, but unfortunate it happened at all.

Tons of fun with these ladies and look forward to racing with them again!

Spinning 45:00 [4]

The lesson learned today is that I should always go prepared with running shoes, not just bike shoes. The instructor didn't show this morning, so without running shoes, I was looking at a long, silent spin by myself as everyone cleared out with the lack of instructor. Then one guy came back in saying he was going to spin anyway and had his ipod, so he plugged it in - so happy he had it with him and came back!. When he said he just wasn't sure what he'd do, I offered to time intervals in lieu of a proper class (glad I had my watch), so we did that and one other woman had stuck around so we had an impromptu class of sorts with long hill climbs & speed intervals followed by short high intensity intervals. The other two seemed to be happy enough to have me set the intervals, so it was a win win. :)

Strength Training (trx) 25:00 [3]

Was supposed to go the gym... dragged my feet... did this instead.

Road Bike 50:29 [3] 25.7 km (1:58 / km)

Having no real idea what is a fast pace for me, I set out thinking I would try to have an average of 25+ km/hr for the ride. Once I got going I quickly revised this to trying to keep an average around 30 and trying to keep it over 25 for the hills (and knowing full well this wasn't going to be achieved on the hills, but it's always good to have lofty goals to work towards). Great day for a ride and rode hard to make the most of it.

Tiny doesn't believe my bike computer. He thinks either his or mine must be set wrong. I like what mine tells me... so it must be his. ;) He and I will have to ride together sometime to check his theory out.

Run 40:00 [2]

A mostly run, a little hike with Teeny in the stroller. Enjoyed some time on local trails and then stopped at the park for Teeny. I think she might love swing more than she loves me. ;)

Mountain Biking 3:15:00 [3]

I'm the last one to the party on logging all of this. ;) Had such a fun time on the bike - as said by others, it was perfect AR-style biking. The boys were very complimentary (whether earned or not), and made sure to keep us laughing by falling head first into puddles, and literally getting stuck in the mud. Good times. :)

Hike (Trek) 4:00:00 [3]

Great course set out by Simpy. We had a good times crashing through the bush, investigating scat, swatting bugs and chatting. Oh... and we did some trekking in there too. :) Simpy and BiT did a great job on nav.

Paddling 2:00:00 [3]

Lots of rapids to portage around, poison ivy to avoid, and some paddling in between. The paddle was gorgeous until we hit the open water with high winds. Simpy and Hermes, and BiT seemed to be making headway, but Funderstorm and I were getting pushed into shore and having little to no forward movement... I'm totally blaming the wind and tubby boat, not my lack of paddling skills... I'm sticking to that story! (although I am going to start doing some rowing, but it's definitely unrelated... really...) Totally thought we were going end up going for a dip, but we managed to get to shore dry. The others ran back to get the vehicles after we came to terms with the fact that paddling the rest of the way wasn't going to work.
