shoes: New Trailer
Trying out the newer trailer. Why a new trailer? The old trailer has a flat. A tire and a tube would be like $30. This trailer was $50 off marketplace, has three tires still with nubs, has suspension, and has the conversion to jogging stroller (the old one did but broke a long time ago, not repairable unless you had metalworking skills).
Downside: far less cargo volume than old trailer. May have to rig something up particularly for Mondays/Fridays when there's a sleeping mat, at least until March or so when someone ages out of compulsory nap time.
Verdict:
It does pull nicer, and is wholly a nicer system with better fit, finish, craftsmanship, strap system, plus 20" wheels instead of 16s, but I imagine if you are like a typical person and only end up pulling kids a few dozen miles lifetime, the cheap ones are fine. Currently old trailer is at 70 miles this year so far, and doesn't count the tag along.
Now to find a cheap tire and tube for old trailer so I can keep a studded bike rigged up for snow days. Or maybe a spare hitch will be cheaper....
