Tossed a few branches off the trail, tramped down a few nettles, broke back a few overhanging branches - but not enough to be worthy of noting. Probably slowed me down by 15 minutes or so. Very hot, very humid.
Any orienteering connection (besides personal training)?
Not really. Opposite side of the lake from Mounds. Not wide enough for much normal O possibility. An around the lake trail run (at least a marathon distance) or rogaine (like what the Mission Adventure Race did) would be possible.
