I wonder how long it took you. Just curious how it compares to my records for a one-day event.

mikeminium:
7:49 down including 3 stops totaling 23 minutes, 506 miles
7:35 back with 2 stops totaling 15 minutes, 504 miles

FYI, the only things I touched outside my vehicle (with a disposable glove) were self-serve gas pumps and windshield squeegees at Rio-Grande, OH (same station both directions) and at Asheboro just before arriving at Gray Owl.

Might be a record for me too. I did a sprint race on Goat Island at Niagara Falls State Park a number of years back, which was probably about 450 miles each way, and I think I did that up and back on the same day. Many years ago, I went to St Louis a couple times for one day events - that's probably 350 each way, also out and back on the same day. Might have done longer once or twice for a Possum Trot or Bubba Goat.

Of course Bubba Goats are special :), I once (2014? )drove from Mobile to Raleigh, (with stop in Birmingham for their Saturday meet on the way). Google map shows 730 miles one way.

These days for a day trip (that is start in the morning, run, get back same day,) my limit is 3.5, max 4 hrs one way, and it is too tiring. A couple of times I drove 6-7 hrs to DC area the day before, then stayed in a motel overnight (before corona-virus).

PS. I can imagine Uwharrie terrain was just brutal after such a long trip.

I drove down the night before and camped in Joseph's woods, so this one wasn't a same-day round trip.
