'Bent and Goose are going after that elusive Boston qualification. I might think about the Vulture Bait though... The alternative is the Toronto Half. Or a lot of spectating.

okay - but keep in mind that online registration closes today at 6. https://www.onlineregistrations.ca/vulturebait/ and let me know if you're going - i can see if there's room in the pimpala. so far i think there are 4 of us - not sure if christine's going yet either.

Thanks for the invite. Normally I'd be all over that, but somehow I've been thinking about Boston a bit. Of course, I should really have done some specific training for this. Instead I've been sick, out of town and at tons of holiday meals. I guess if I can still qualify in the shape I'm in, a good marathon time should be easy if I trained.

i'm sure you'll do fine. good luck! and i might join you guys for one of carons' classes next week. what time do they start?

The Core class is Thursday at 7:10 p.m., then the Yoga class continues after that, finishing at 8:30 p.m. Downstairs at the Caledon East Community Centre (next to the OPP). I think it's $10/week. Beforehand, some people do a coached outdoor run (some form of intervals with As, Bs and Cs in a nearby subdivision) for no extra cost. For that, you meet at the Community Centre front door at 5:45 p.m.

'Bent you will definately qualify ...I mean in your category it's atleast a 5+hr cut-off for Boston.

If you want to work together for the first 27km, I'll be pacing around the 3hr mark? Keep in mind that you have the big climb ~15min into the race (new course ...climbing out of hog's hollow), so you'll want a bit of a warm-up before hand.

I've told 'Bent and Goose they should stick with the 3:20 pace bunny until 32 km, then speed up if they've got it in them. It's the first marathon for both of them, and they only need 3:30.

Bender, I'm doing this one with Goose. He's planning a 3:20 pace, unless we feel good in the last 10k. I suspect if I kept up your pace I wouldn't last much past Hog's Hollow given my intensive preparation.

Hmmm, looks like 'Bent and I pressed "submit" at the same moment. (He's sitting 3' away. I could ask him.)

You two crack me up.

He's planning a 3:20 pace, unless we feel good in the last 10k.
Bent' smart move for the first attempt. I may just join you in the finish chute, having gone out too fast and blown up.
