The whole summer evenings concept's a bit rubbish out here. Being so much closer to the equator than the UK, the midsummer sunset was a wee bit after 9:30, and it's dark when I get up in the mornings already. Even being down in Otago meant that we had noticeably more light in the evening (and that I beat Oli for sheer volume of crazy travelling for a weekend away)!
The other thing that feels a bit bizarre is that there's almost no twilight zone. One moment it's light and I'm thinking about going home, the next I'm cycling without lights in the middle of the night.
