Alcohol and stove experiments don't mix Bent. Just ask Slice from her highschool camping days!!

It's OK if alcohol is the fuel for your stove, as opposed to the fuel for you.

'Bent has figured out how to boil water using our teeny little ultralight stove, and that's very good news to those of us who were expecting cold, crunchy freeze-dried pasta on our backpacking trip.

And I've been reading that you can make a more efficient stove from US Heineken cans, so there will be some drinking involved, if I can get the right cans. I've got my ace procurement specialist working on it.

The inventor suggests using pure ethanol in the stove so you can also dump some in your coffee.

if you drink enuf of the fuel you won't care what temp your food is :-) ... but I'm sure it would make you sick - or worse

I'm shocked you haven't already leapt in to offer to help empty the donor cans for the stove experiment, or provide materiel.

This is the barrel shaped can you needed, right?

There should be plenty for everybody, but I can't wait to see photos of you carrying this on your run...

Our wee Vargo Triad stove is looking better and better.

Umm, I just found some 330ml Heine cans. Not that more isn't welcome, but that would make a stove big enough for hot air balloons!
I'll be glad to help empty some small ones, but that keg thing's beyond me.

Mission accomplished. 2 cans emptied and sacrificed in the name of science and adventure.

Full pot of water (just under 1L) boiled in about 7-8 minutes, start to finish. This thing's definitely hotter than the Vargo.

We just may have to create more containers after Navstock.
