...apparently had the best time of them all in the relay.

Spending a month down under for World Cup races in NZE may not have helped her skiing - even if she brought her roller skis and actually had something like 860 km of skiing already by the beginning of December...

ok, so that prompted me to look up how much rollerskiing I'd done by December, and I had 1035km, which I thought was not very much, since I didn't do much of it over the summer, the way a proper skier should. This would make it seem that Tove isn't focusing as much as she maybe should on ski training, but maybe she cares more about summer orienteering.

Isn't that just the amount snow skiing by the beginning of December? I imagine she also rollerskied before she got on snow, but I also wouldn't be surprised if someone told me that she is more focused on summer O.

That´s pure snow skiing... (in what I guess was 4-5 weeks time).

Yeah, impressive for just early skiing in 4-5 weeks! I'm pretty sure I haven't skied that much total this season.... ah well, I have been out and about rollerskiing =).

The main reason for that amount of early skiing was - according to Tove in her blog - an injury that prevented her from running. Still impressive though!

I recall reading somewhere (probably an article from world of O) that the ski-O champs are an intermediate goal for her and that WOC is her primary objective. A cursory glance yielded this article, in which she says that summer-O comes first. I suppose her decision to attend the New Zealand World Cup races rather than the ski-O festival in January reflect that.
