Nice job again. Alex stated it well. It is exceptional that you can even hang with a group of women who train all year for this occasion. To have your focus divided and have the "normal" work interference that many of us do... amazing.

No regrets! You did a phenomenal performance. On to Kaz with Alex, Anna and the guys.

I knew you were good, but I didn't know it was going to go down like this. Don't you work a full-time job in Toledo, Ohio? Wowzers.

Congrats!

(Really, 1-6 get paid? Arph!)

Once again totally awesome ski race. 7th place in your first Birkie!
Now if you could only get out and ski when you wanted every day..........you would be awesomer. Maybe for next year a change in the weather pattern would bring lots of snow to your area , you and others could actually train.

Most excellent! I like the dude skating in blue jeans in the photos. Did someone say "chafing?"

Thanks all! Yeah, totally hoping for a snowier Toledo next winter, but probs shouldn't hold my breath. =) Will just have to be the master of rollerskiing... most of all, I have to find a way to train hills!!

And ouchie blue jeans. Hopefully minimized if wearing some long undies...

Less like a road marathon, more like a bike race actually. Congrats on a great race!

I also note my admiration for your excellent performances.

As for hills in Toledo:

Why o why o why-O
do I find myself in Ohio...
No hill in sight,
geology's slight.
I'd just rather go
where there's mountains 'n snow.

Question: Jonis and I were just looking at the results and noticed that you have a faster time listed than 6th. And it was the same on the men's side, 7th had a faster time than 6th. What's up with that?

AliC may not answer for awhile.... so I will fill in. The top 6 positions were decided by gun time. The gun went off at 0800 and they finished at roughly 10:30. There was a 300m ski to the chip timer, so they were also on the clock based on chip time. Ali was the 7th across the finish line, but reasonably close to #6. So close, that her chip time was shorter than the gun time (chip time plus the 300m time) of the #6 finisher. Clear??? I had to ask Ali...

Thanks, thought it might have been related to the chip time. It just seemed weird that the only two we noticed out of order were 6 and 7 in both men and women.
