where can't you get through? and who are the nasty folks?
There was a gate in the fence between Palgrave CA and Zimmerman drive that a bunch of us got permission for from the TRCA. It's near the post boxes. I suspect Mr. Reddington changed his mind and had it closed off without TRCA approval.
Now nobody who lives in the entire development can get to the conservation area without walking around an extra km, up Highway 50. Betcha most of them will drive now.
That's absurd. Anyone 'unboard' it yet?
Apparently, the TRCA is going to send someone within the next week or two. It is an official entrance to the conservation area and should not have been closed by anyone. Phew! I haven't been happy about 'Bent and the pooches being forced to cross Hwy 50 at a place where drivers are accelerating up to highway speed.
We climbed the fence today- me over, Bulletdog reluctantly under.
I have a chainsaw. :-)
Makes more of a statement than dismantling
Don't want to get into a fence war. Local resident cuts boards- they put in concrete posts and wire. Local cuts wire- they put in welded steel gate...
I was tempted, but it should be sorted by next week.
I ran in Palgrave conservation area last night with Biker Rob (who just moved to the Reddington Estates), and he was ticked off that his access to the park had been blocked. Seems to me that's where the pressure to open things up again needs to come from. We just treated it as some kind of obstacle in Warrior Dash!
Someone has been laying logs across the main trail in Palgrave West too. Nothing big, only a minor inconvenience so far.
What could someone possibly have against trail users?
[Are there cars parked on a residential street!?]
No cars! Palgrave has 3 official parking lots.
