I believe that's the first AP Hockley loop of the year. Good on you guys to get the loop in, in tougher conditions.

We didn't do anywhere near the whole loop, just the North bit from the parking lot and back with side trails. GPS is taking forever to download, but map will be up shortly.

Still..did you climb the three b*tches!?

No, we started at the West parking lot on Hockley Road and went North, did a bit of a new trail as it was broken, then came back via all the side trails. Given the trail conditions and that Greg is coming back from illness, it was a solid enough workout. The full loop would take hours longer than summer.

Map is up now.

They were entirely within Hockley Provincial Park, which would be the busiest section of Bruce Trail around there. 'Bent commented that the main trail was only runnable in Microspikes - that spiked shoes or Yaktrax probably wouldn't have been enough traction. The side trails were softer with some post holing. Still, they got in a better run than they could get on the trails around here. It is still snowshoe and ski weather!

Okay gotcha. It didn't even register when looking at the time at first but that woulda been a real speedy full loop. :)

Yep, snowcross wouldn't have been great. We followed some heavily stomped trails in the north bit that weren't part of the Bruce, but were good running and connected back. I was surprised how much the trails had been compacted. We ran into the Chinese hiking group too- they are hardcore!

Forgot to mention the aid station. As we ran back, there were some folks taking a break at a fork in the trail. One of them had his mouth full, but held out a bag of dark chocolate squares for us! What a guy- wish he was always there.
