There are a lot of choices out there. Makes choosing a mountain bike look simple. What could you do with 271kg of cargo capacity?

271 kg!!? You could transport a drum of chemicals on the back of your bike with that kind of capacity. Not sure why you'd want to, though. I feel that balance would get difficult long before you hit that weight… and hope for no hills. You'd be surprised at what people transport by bike in other parts of the world. Pretty much everything. They weld the rack right onto the frame. One popular way to get around is to get a "lifti" sitting on the rack of someone's bike.

We went to the North American Bike Week show at Cobo Hall (Detroit) yesterday, which was focused on urban cycling. There were a few of those "cargo" bikes there. Yes, that's a lot of weight to either have 'way in front of or behind your usual centre of gravity. Pretty neat what you can do with 2 wheels.
