Germantown East. Red course. Definitely felt the fact that I haven't had time for any significant running in the last couple weeks. Some minor dental surgery (a follow up from my 2004 granite-biting incident at the Wyoming Laramie Daze meet), plus the need to spend a lot of computer time getting stuff ready for Flying Pig has kept me from doing much actual running the last couple weeks. The time I've been in the woods (often immediately following my dental appointments) has been low-physical-effort stuff (checking control sites, updating maps).

There were a couple runner's legs across fileds, and a couple controls in thick green areas or that required passing thru thick green stuff. A fairly physical course, overall.

Green course at French Park. Lots of trail running, but when you had to enter the forest, you quickly learned why it was a "green" course. Hah! The hills were brutal, especially the long climb from 10 to 11 and the finish. Kudos to course setter David Williams.

orienteering 30:00 [1] ** 2.0 km (15:00 / km)
