Cycling 20:00 [3] 4.92 mi (14.8 mph) +32m

Coincidentally the exact same time as the orienteering later, confusing attackpoint lol
2 PM

Functional Fitness 41:51 intensity: (4:37 @1) + (13:08 @2) + (22:01 @3) + (2:05 @4)
ahr:147 max:174

Cycling 21:26 [2] 4.88 mi (13.7 mph) +30m

There's a good reason I went home and then biked right past Tufts again I promise.

Cycling 45:03 intensity: (8:14 @1) + (31:54 @2) + (4:14 @3) + (41 @4) 10.47 mi (13.9 mph) +88m

Orienteering 19:50 intensity: (15 @2) + (30 @3) + (18:21 @4) + (44 @5) 2.36 mi (8:24 / mi) +97m 7:27 / mi

Felt really good about this one. Didn't go 100% because it's an NRE weekend, but still ran harder than I probably should've. The woods were immaculate, why of all places is this where some of the best Boston terrain is? Great map and very fun course, kudos to Ian and everyone else who had a hand in this. Plus we had SI-AIR for this one, it made everything so much more flowy.

Cycling 43:25 intensity: (2:36 @1) + (19:13 @2) + (21:36 @3) 10.45 mi (14.4 mph) +97m
ahr:145 max:166

Stomach immediately felt like shit, this was not an enjoyable experience in any way.

Cycling 19:32 [1] 4.95 mi (15.2 mph) +31m

Sweet tailwind.

Other 1:00:00 intensity: (58:09 @0) + (1:51 @1) 3.9 mi (15:23 / mi)
ahr:90 max:105 shoes: Brooks Cascadia 16

Last day of the study, same thing as before but with a low HR on the treadmill.
4 PM

Run 1:40:02 intensity: (44:19 @2) + (42:05 @3) + (13:38 @4) 10.5 mi (9:32 / mi) +592m 8:06 / mi
ahr:150 max:174 shoes: Brooks Cascadia 16

I hate how much I have to seek out the hills here. Thinking of doing treadhill doubles regularly.

Cycling 19:07 [2] 4.82 mi (15.1 mph) +28m
ahr:173 max:188

Not a lot of brain cells out there with today's commuters.

Note

I attached maps and did write ups for the two trainings over the weekend and the SPOT last Thursday. It being the end of classes, it was quite the pendulum week. With qualifying exams coming up, the pendulum might tick much harder the next few weeks, but I should also have more time for O.

ahr:135 max:162 shoes: HOKA Clifton 8

Second testing for the psychology study, 3.9mph for 60min at 14.3% gradient, psychological testing every minute on the minute. I had to tell stories, do reading comprehension tests, reaction tests, and some number tests while they monitored the like 500 sensors on my body.

Did o-tervals with Brendan and Ali for 1-3 (I ran last) and 4-6 (ran first), then did the rest of the course myself (ran last). Another rainy day, and the water levels were quite a bit higher than what was mapped. O-Range wasn't all that good today either, nothing seemed to be going right out there.

Couldn't hold a bearing for my life. After 6 when I had time to stand there and reflect, I tried to refocus and nail the bearings, but slipped on the way to 7 and got pretty frustrated after sucking on 7 and 8. After such a horrendous start I focused incredibly hard on maintaining a bearing to 10 and still ended up hitting the river way way too early, I have absolutely no explanation for it.

Cleaned it up for the next few controls, passed Brendan to 12 and Ali to 14, where she caught me up on a mistake to 15 then again on the way to 18, another unexplainable error because I knew exactly where I was at the marsh and just lost it.

Super thankful for Niels to put this on, and for the DeWitts for being so kind to us. It was wet and extremely slippery on the slopes, so rocky options were big no-no's today. Never executed at top form, making small mistakes all over the place. 8 was excusable because I spent half the time adjusting my headband and not looking at my route whatsoever, and I knew that would happen while doing it.

I ran to the feature on every control from 18 to 21, literally within arms reach, and for various reasons didn't see the control on any of them. Some were quick turnarounds, other were long times spend standing still, knowing it was the right feature, wondering if they took down the controls already.

So I jogged the remainder of the controls, feeling kind of crappy with how many small mistakes I made. It was good training and I think I did well, but I made a stupendous amount of mistakes.
