Backcountry skiing (Roamr) 1:30:00 [2] 5.0 km (18:00 / km) +475m 12:12 / km

Day 1 at Valhalla Lodge with Courtney, Atsuko, Russ, Vik, Tom, Ashley, Anna, Christian and Kathryn. Short day and with the sling load the flights take more time than you expect so only got out for a short couple runs in Cabin Bowl and Home Run. Light was flat so hard to see where the old tracks were (about 10cm on top of the tracks) but managed to find some decent snow.

Run 36:00 [1] 5.25 km (6:51 / km) +20m 6:44 / km
shoes: Icebug Green

Felt like this run took forever due to a combo of hamstring still being sore and the 5cm of new snow making the footing crap even despite the icebugs.

Well the hip pain has improved but the hamstring is now really tight. Feels like things keep going around in circles. To be fair I have really slacked on the stretching lately. A fairly slow run around the greenbelt. Met lots of dogs which was exciting for Milo.

Skate ski 1:30:00 [2] 17.0 km (5:18 / km) +385m 4:45 / km

Xmas ski with Courtney, Russ and Vikki. Had to work last night so a bit tired. Another round of grooming helped the conditions compared to yesterday. The dog loop was very busy and Milo was super energetic so that made things a bit less relaxing. Second loop was much quieter. Hip seems better today.

Classic ski 55:00 [2] 9.5 km (5:47 / km) +190m 5:16 / km

Made it home from Canmore by lunch time - the first hour of the drive was slow as the road was a sheet of ice. Got a lot better after entering BC and remainder of drive was much faster. Skiing was OK but poor grip due to the refrozen conditions. Milo was super energetic - he's been under the weather for the past 5 days so it was good to see him back to his usual self.

Run 40:00 [2] 5.5 km (7:16 / km)
shoes: Icebug Green

Slow run through Canmore - here for a quick Rennie family reunion with all the aunts and cousins. Our arrival was delayed a day due to the stormy weather. The streets and trails were a bit snowy and uneven. Stopped at one point to push a car out from a snowbank. Hip was really bothering me the last three days hence the lack of exercise. Running seemed OK though was tight at the end.

Skate ski 1:10:00 [1] 13.0 km (5:23 / km) +155m 5:05 / km

CNC with some of Courtney's family. Spent a little time skiing on our own then some doodling around giving the kids some tips (and some tows). The did the Banff Loop with Courtney and Sassie. The rest of the afternoon was spent tobogganing.
