Rogaine race 10:47:00 [3] 44.0 km (14:42 / km)
ahr:110 max:150 shoes: Keen Ridgeline

A couple of personal goals today
1. R foot to outlast knees - knees to last well into the night.
2. Navigation wise - always be aware of where we are, getting a better feeling for the terrain so no more "where are we" moments.

No problems with the foot, only slight discomfort with the knees, so a tick for #1.
Felt much better with the nav, being able to correct quickly if a little bit off.
Tick for #2.

Team goal today was to Nav smoothly and we did very well. A huge improvement on previous efforts and we worked very well as a team.
We spiked most of the controls with a couple of small corrections and 1 missed in the night.
We kept up a good pace only stopping to refill at the water drops.
Bonus points for Matt when he asked Steve if he had punched a control that was worth 100 pts after we had started off towards the next. It wasn't punched so we went back. That would have hurt when we got back in.

About 30 mins before the start we all had a good laugh when Steve realized he had forgotten to bring some non essential equipment for rogaining.............. His PANTS!!!
I lent him my thermal pants with the understanding that I may want them back if it got too cold. This may have been his motivation to keep up a good pace.

After some much appreciated food by the fire we decided a drive home to sleep in our own beds would be the best option. Thanks to Steve and Matt for sharing the drive back as it allowed me to rest up for my drive home from Matt's place.

Run 13:00 [3] 2.5 km (5:12 / km)

A quick jog up and down the path at Mindarie to see how the foot will hold up on the weekend (well to see how it will hold up for the first 2.5k anyway)
No pain.

Paddle 35:00 [3]

Limited time before picking the girls up from school.
Just a very unstructured interval session.

Paddle (River/River bed) 2:16:41 [3] 10.0 km (13:40 / km)
ahr:120 max:150 shoes: Endorfinn Ski

An ambitious attempt to paddle up river from Amiens with Stevej.

Paddle/portage/paddle/portage/paddle/portage (x4).....
repeat on the way back......

Interesting to see what lies below when the water is flowing.
One swim when attempting to go under a log that you would usually go over.
Steve made it by millimeters however I got halfway then in I went. Fixed the problem on the return trip by lying face down on the ski and paddling with my hands.
Not the trip we planned, more of an expedition than a training session, all good fun though.

Did I mention the portage?

Ride (mountain Bike) 48:26 [3] 22.3 km (27.6 kph)

Ride up Marmion ave to Pipidinny Rd and back.
Stopping to check out some areas for trail running on the way, found some nice hilly trails, just need to find a good place to hide the bike.
