Brown course at Camp Rodney. Mid-Atlantic Champs. 2.8k, 90m. Pretty much a middle distance course, with lots of short legs, the longest being 335m. Lots of light green vegetation to reduce both speed and visibility but many buildings to aid with navigation. Temperature in the low 50s with mist and fog. Woods were wet from earlier rain.
Three significant errors for a total time loss of about 4 minutes. On both 4 and 6 I got pushed by vegetation and in both cases turned the wrong way when I went to correct. On 9 I completely missed seeing one of the two streams I was following and was in the one I hadn't noticed. Made things match until they didn't after I crossed the road. At least this time I turned in the right direction to fix things.
Thanks to Wyatt for organizing and designing courses and to all the volunteers who helped make it happen.

Mid-Atlantic Champs Relay. 2nd leg - 2.3k, 60m, "orange". On a 9-point team with Julia (from Colt's Neck) and Vadim. Julia was quite speedy on the first leg, so I was the first person out on the second leg, with a 36 second head start over Peggy. Had to wake up the third control which apparently hadn't been used for the earlier courses. Turned in from the trail too early on the way to 5 and Peggy caught up just as we punched at 6 (Jon Torrence stayed on the trail longer and had gone by on the way to 5). Kept running as much as I could to keep Peggy in sight but I was pretty much out of gas. Tagged off to Vadim about 25 seconds behind. Vadim held position so we finished third overall, first DVOA team.

Walking Purchase Park. Leaf-covered rock gardens, which test the limit of my skill if they are uphill. Good technical practice. Mostly sunny, about 50F, so good riding weather for the last day of November.

Jordan Parkway. Trails damp from rain yesterday so were a little slippery in places. Didn't push the pace in an effort to stay upright. Brisk at 45F with some wind but was fine with a jacket, leg cover, full gloves and a buff under the helmet.
