Note
(sick) (rest day)

Bit under the weather so taking the day off.

In other news, MSc in the bag. The orienteering research seems to have gone down well. Trying to cut it to a 5/6 page paper to be submitted to the Scientific Journal of Orienteering.

Munster League - #8
Blue Pool - Muckross
Brown - 8.4km - 23c

Went in search of points today. Smooth through the first section and then took the less risky route to 4, same as Colm O'H but Zac went through the dodgy section. In to 5 seemed to take a very long time to get to. Downhill to 6 and then along to 7, climb up the re-entrant seemed to take a while too, lots of deadfall to fight around. Passed dadosh to 8 and then straigh to 9 through what was white forest not light green. Cut in a bit early to 10 and then up the hill to 11, kit was very low. 12 and 13 on the open were clean and back in for 14 and 15. Veg change at 15 wasnt as shown but in the right spot. If the boulder at 16 was 30-40cm high it was big, and was buried in heather with the control low. Lost some time being too high so went lower. Across to 17 and en route to 18 I passed zacosh. 19/20/21/22 were clean and then too high to 23. Was too high on the slope and lost time, maybe a minute or so.

Still have that question about how the league points system works?

(map below is older and more out of date than the one we had, as can be seen by 14 where theres no feature in the circle)

I am now able to cut keys so any supervillians, or not-so-supervillans, out there I can do you a deal maybe instead of using the bluetack trick.

Looking at the Munster League standings going into the weekend and trying to figure out what I need to do. 2 races left and I need both to score. But how does the scoring system actually work? I cant seem to figure it out!

Same route as last week. After about 4.5km I decided the pace was too slack so drifted to the front with zacosh. Next thing we knew we were 50m ahead and that's pretty much how it stayed. The guys behind upped it at the end to try make a catch but no luck.
