From the train to the GC, through downtown Palatine. Twenty minutes early on the return...so I imbibed a Surly Furious at
Durty Nellies, right below the train platform...very handy.
The original
Irish Durty Nellies, in Bunratty Castle, in Shamrock, Ireland, used to be my favorite bar when I worked over there during the winter of 1972. The smell of the turf fire in the old fireplace, the beautiful Irish singing by the patrons at the bar, and the wonderful taste of Guinness as served in a proper pint glass across an Irish bar just before 10pm closing...fond memories!
