Orienteering (White 1) 28:00 [1] 2.0 km (14:00 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response Trail 14

Shadowed Hayden on White course - some navigational assistance needed, but ran well. Raining lightly

Orienteering race (Red 1) 1:28:00 [3] *** 5.5 km (16:00 / km) +150m 14:05 / km
shoes: Adidas Response Trail 14

Red course - steady rain, contacts w/ no glasses for protection. Tried to run conservatively and stay in contact on Big Island, always a problem area for me. Although I was tending to slow down just before the circle, it was more cautionary than anything else and for 8 controls I was pretty much navigating very cleanly. Then a total loss of contact and other errors on #9 & #10 which together took me 29 minutes. ouch... Rest of course ran pretty cleanly with only minor bobbles, but those two consecutive booms really blew it for me. On the positive side, running a rainy race in Pawtuckaway terrain - I can't attribute any of my issues to vision - so the contacts are definitely a successful option...

Orienteering race (Yellow 1 (aka sprint)) 15:41 [5] *** 2.0 km (7:51 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response Trail 14

Ran yellow course for sprint training. Light rain. Ran well all the way around except for #7 where I left the clearing 90ish degrees off mistaking the parking area for the clearing I wanted to run for, when I realized my error, I compounded it by running out the wrong side of the parking area. Ran well and fast, but a very 'wide' route choice on what should have been a direct shot through the woods.

Orienteering (Vampire O) 45:00 [1]
shoes: Adidas Response Trail 14

Vampire O with the family - Hayden and I ran ahead memory O style on some controls, then regrouped with family (Anna was map bearer). Quite a fun night in lightly misting conditions..
