Swimming race (NIagara Triathlon) 15:07 [3] 0.75 km (20:09 / km)

Terrible swim. I knew my avg of 1hr swim/month for the last 5 months wouldn't be pretty but having this other idiot who used me as a bumper curb instead of sighting didn't help either. 7/39 in age cat for swim.

Cycling race (Niagara Triathlon) 44:24 [4] 25.0 km (33.8 kph)

Short ride out of town and onto a typical escarpment climb. Passed a sh*tload on the climb and tried to maintain a steady pace. Not a fast course due to that one big climb but probably helped my result. 25K too short, definitely felt better as the ride progressed. 2/39 on the bike.

Running race (Niagara Traithlon) 28:36 [4] 7.0 km (4:05 / km)
shoes: Newton Gravity

Only saw one bike racked when I got back so I was hoping to catch the guy ahead of me (no chance of that... turns out he won overall by destroying the rest of the field - get a frickin pro card dude). Started out conservative with stitches and kept passing people but none in my age cat, all just waves ahead of me. Just like the bike, felt better as the run progressed. 2/39 on the run in age cat.

3/39 in age cat. Must have missed the other bike racked as he had a slower run 2nd was 30 secs ahead - fack.
Basically did this race last minute to get the Subaru $750 Trisport incentive for a new car purchase but nice to squeeze in on the podium. Pushed pretty hard but played it safe on the descents and corners and didn't turn myself inside out with Scotland in less than a week.
