Jocelyn had never been to Hockley, and I was itching to go back after a few rough efforts the last few times. Luckily we managed to convince Bash (aka the Queen of Hockley) to take us for a tour on the standard loop. It was pretty much a perfect day. It got a bit warm in direct sunlight, but for all the sections on trail it was amazing.

I was worried about keeping up with the two speedy ladies, but we settled in to a great, sustainable pace as all of us were hoping to just get a nice solid long run in. I was pleasantly surprised by how great I felt today from start to finish, with fairly decent hydration and nutrition. So nice to have a solid run in to help build a bit of confidence. And of course, great company made it even better.

Another day at Joyride with the boys, this time with their new bikes. They had a friend show up, which was nice as I had a bit more time than usual to ride myself. Surprising how much easier the hard tail is on the pump track. Not so much 29" wheels on the skinnies.

Logged an hour out of the four we were there.

Friday Rouge run with Jocelyn. Always an adventure taking some trails that probably haven't been used since the turn of the century. Just tried to hang on in the last half. Wasn't exactly full of energy. With what we have planned Sunday, I expect to suffer. A lot.

Road run around the 'hood. Tried to keep up a solid effort without forcing the pace. I almost forgot what it felt like to run on the road, or what pace to keep. Don't really miss it though. Almost got doored, and was force off the sidewalk a number of times by people taking up way more room than they needed. Back to the trails for me.

Crazy suffer session with Boss Briggs. We are supposed to be in the easy class, but burned off 510 calories in 47 minutes, which as far as I recall is the most yet. Cardio followed by core, and if I had to do one more burpee, I probably would have barfed. Great class.
