rowing (erg) 36:30 intensity: (20:00 @2) + (10:00 @4) + (6:30 @5) 7.3 km (5:00 / km)

So nice to be able to do this at home, in my nice cool basement. Doesn't hurt that the machine I bought has the ability to sync up to an app, so I can do online workouts or watch videos and listen to music without having to wear earbuds, too.

biking (Stationary trainer) 20:00 [1] 4.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Tinkering with the seat position while waiting for the erg tablet to charge a bit.

swimming 35:00 [3] 1.3 km (26:55 / km)

Wasn't 100% sure I'd be able to make it today, my meetings seemed to be spaced out at sub-optimal intervals, but finally got out of my last meeting at 10 to the hour, so grabbed my stuff and got to the pool as fast as I could. There was no one else there, as usual, so I was able to sign in and get in the water only a few minutes late.

rowing (erg) 36:00 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (10:00 @3) + (16:00 @4) 6.8 km (5:18 / km)

Played around a bit with the tablet and app that came with the machine. Not a bad app, a one year subscription came with purchase, but I'm not at all sure I'll renew after this year. Those subscriptions are probably much better with a treadmill or bike, seems a little limited with the rower. Still, lots of pleasant videos of rowing on the Thames, so that's nice.

rowing (erg) 34:56 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (24:56 @4) 5.2 km (6:43 / km)

So, the gym opened back up for active duty today. Fortunately, I didn't have to go. I realized over the past few months that the only thing I really missed about the gym was the rowing machine, and maybe the weight machines. But I didn't miss the heat, the stale sweat smell, or the 8 TVs all set to fox "news". So a couple weeks ago I broke down and bought a rowing machine for the house. Much better!

swimming 45:00 [2] 1.8 km (25:00 / km)

Figured the 4th was a good time to do a 1775 swim, except it's a long course pool, so rounded up to 1800. With my current level of fitness, this was just right as a challenge- kept swimming steadily, but not fast, and was just about done with the last lap when they blew the whistle.

swimming 45:00 [2] 1.5 km (30:00 / km)

Hooray! The base pool is open again! Strict 45 minute sessions, and from 45 after to the top of the hour is for cleaning and keeping incoming and outgoing traffic separate- so if you're late for your reserved slot, you lose that time. But, only active duty allowed right now, so seems to be plenty of capacity even for walk-ups if I don't manage to call ahead for a lane. Bummed that no civilians are allowed, and no dependents, so I can't take Katherine, and no swim team practice. Less bummed about the civilians, since they're allowed to go to other pools (big Navy put out an order last week that we're not allowed to go to public pools), which makes it tough when we're both active duty so Katherine can't go, either. And there's a lot of jellies in the river right now, so swimming from the beach isn't a great option. But yay for at least being able to swim myself! I've been pretty unmotivated since the pools and gyms closed in March.
