Run 1:35:50 [3] 9.04 mi (10:36 / mi) +367ft 10:13 / mi

first bit of the 50k course. i don't feel like i'm trained up for a 50k, and although the night boot is really helping my PF, i don't feel comfortable making it/me suffer at this point in the year. so, 9mi it is and no issues :)

Bike 3:49:03 [3] 22.11 mi (5.8 mph) +883ft
shoes: Niner Air9 RDO

then changed clothes, cringed sitting on the saddle for the first 15 min, and pedaled the rest of the 50k course w Erl as he ran.

this weekend was his goal event after getting surgery on the ankle in September. from a million splints, to a cast, to crutches, to a scooter, to a boot, to no crutches, to a shoe, then PT and gradually running again, it was so enjoyable to spend the rest of the day cheering him on as we wound our way around Busch Wildlife. both days of the Incredibly Socially Distant Mid-South Double have been a highlight for me over the past year of relative bleakness.

Defiance was a crowded mess w a St. Pat’s Day parade. we had an awesome aid station stop at Sunflower Hill Farm on Terry Rd mile 70. super super day.
