Spinning (Compu-Trainer) 1:30:00 [3] 46.5 km (1:56 / km)
First time out to RIDE Milton for a compu-trainer session. I wasn't so sure how much I would like the idea of spinning on a trainer, in a room, hooked up to a computer where you watch youself as a tiny little bike symbol moving a long a course (hill, hill, decline, hill, decline... you get the picture) and having to compare myself to the other people riding with you. However, much to my surprise, I had a really fun time. A large part of course has to do with the other women I was riding with (Bash, Funderstorm, Sherpa, WandAR and Jenna). Jenna, thankfully!, had her iPhone with good workout tunes to keep us motivated. Being a relatively silly group, we were cheering on changes in place, and generally being quite chatty.
Also, I am either a glutton for punishment or something (....) because some of the hills (steep ones excluded of course) on the compu-trainer seemed to feel no harder than some of the downhills, and definitely not harder than the flats!
I was feeling kinda worried about the time being 90 minutes since I haven't been on my bike for that long since before I was pregnant with Aubrey (or rather, pregnant enough that riding my road bike was no longer feasible). But (Tiny will groan at this since he always tells me my worrying is totally silly), it turns out I shouldn't have been so worried (darnit... he was right). Managed to keep a pretty decent wattage (average 162) and (who knows how) also pulled off the 'win' which earned me a ghiradelli caramel chocolate square... mmmm..... although I'm pretty sure Bash let me take the win... and she's sick... ;) Funderstorm kicked all our tails on the wattage front averaging 178!! Whoa momma! Put her on a road bike and I'll have to avoid going head to head with her! ;)
Thanks to Bash for organizing and to everyone who came out. I had a great time. Only downside is that I forgot my water bottles... poop.
