Cycling 1:30:00 [2]

Ride to Caledon East with Bash. I felt really good, and went along at a good clip, but waited like a good boy at intersections so the average was zone 2. Bash's knee was giving her a bit of hassle.

We deserved a nice ride after finally attacking the much-procrastinated outdoor gear room cleanup project.

Cycling 50:00 [3]

Bike commute with the Bulletdog. Dark, cold and wet when we set out.

Running 40:00 [3]
shoes: Ecco Receptor

Run with Bash and the beasts. A nice cool day for a family run- we all appreciate the temperatures, rather than fighting smog and heat. Bash's taken her running up a notch from last year.

Strength (Home gym) 1:10:00 [2]

Workout #2. Also did more stretching than usual. It's the time of year for more gym workouts and stretching, and giving the legs a bit more of a break before ski season.

Thumbs-of-death managed to find one scrawny little muscle or tendon in my medial leg that's excruciatingly painful and needs work, and I didn't even know I had it. Maybe something recumbent-specific for climbing, left over from the Canadian RTN Champs.

Running (Commute) 28:00 [2]

Easy jog to work. The legs are coming back. Dark when I head out now!

Hiking (Commute) 35:00 [1]

Quick hike with the T-dog. My legs needed the break from running.

Orienteering race (Wine-O) 1:17:00 [4] ***
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

I ran the Wine-O (Or harvest Classic.) I decided not to do the sprint as my legs are pooped from yesterday's race. The long course had an unexpected bonus- we got the map well ahead of time, and I actually had a chance to make a game plan. My fairly conservative route choice worked pretty well, as I was passed by a Sudden Swede or two and a Duke around CP 5-6, which never happens. I should have stuck to the plan though!
Nice course with some tricky but well mapped veg. The legs held out, and I finished 10th I think, and second masters by about 1-2 minutes. Bash upheld the family honour and won both her races, and 2 bottles of wine!
