XC Skiing 2:12:00 [3]

Bash and I skied the perimiter of the Kukagami system, which basically covers most of the trails and steep hills. Superb, razor-sharp tracks, quite a difference from pounding through deep snow, or clattering on ice like January.

Snowshoeing 1:06:00 [2]

We did the snowshoe trail to try and tire out the Bulletdog. Breaking trail through fairly deep snow, even on the trail.

XC Skiing 31:00 [2]

A nice night ski with Bash, in perfect windless conditions and bright moonlight.

XC Skiing (Commute) 30:00 [3]

Ski to work

XC Skiing (Commute) 32:00 [2]

Easy ski home- shorter route.

XC Skiing 1:04:00 [2]

Instead of commuting, I went to Albion Hills with Bash. A lot easier with light racing skis, groomed trails and no heavy pack. Absolutely perfect day, great company.

Strength (Home gym) 15:00 [2]

Only time for part of my workout after my morning ski.

XC Skiing (Commute) 45:00 [3]

Another fantastic commute. We had yet another 5-10cm since yesterday. The skiing was faster today, but thrashing through the dark green where trails used to be is just as slow. The worst part was the final 200M walk down the sidewalk, where the plow has kindly deposited a morass of basketball-sized ice chunks. Some blue sky out!

XC Skiing 36:00 [3]

Faster ski home- the tracks are finally a little broken in.
The Bulletdog's had it with trail breaking- for the first time she's running in my tracks.

XC Skiing (Commute) 43:00 [3]

Trail breaking through fairly deep snow, and some schlepping of large branches off the trail. The last 500M were more of a crawl under branches that obliterated the trail. Maybe I should trade my poles for a Machete.

XC Skiing (Commute) 45:00 [3]

I thought my ski home would be a lot easier since I broke the trail this morning. Wrong. We got another 20 cm of snow, this time light fluff. I was breaking trail the whole way again. In the open portions, Bulletdog was up to her ears, wondering what the heck is going on.
Even pencil-thin branches have 15cm of snow on them today. Absolute winter wonderland out there- I love it!
And, it's still snowing!

Strength (Core) 30:00 [1]

Much to my dismay, Bash was already doing the Hard Core training DVD, so what else could I do but join in. I did the first half second. I think it's getting easer, but after a hard ski who knows?

XC Skiing 1:00:00 [1]

Finally some fresh snow- 25cm of new wet stuff.
Bash and I headed out with the hounds for what turned out to be some ski-bashing, as the trails are smothered in bent-over shrubs. One whack with a ski pole and they straighten, but it's not great skiing. Also a little hazardous out, so we made it short. Still great to be on skis vs biking on ice.
