XC Skiing 2:20:00 [2]

Nice ski with Bash and Knobless at Mansfield, in a winter wonderland day.

Re-visited the site of my shame in the winter race. Going back there, there sure are a lot of parallel trails there, 4 within 50M or so and not all marked on the map. Bash was kind enough to point out that if I had simply backtracked beside the ski trail from F I could have saved 25 minutes or so.

Nice ski around Palgrave with Bash. The storm's letting up. Very light powder on an ice base.

Snowshoeing hills 20:00 [4]

High level 4 hill intervals after the ski. I have to start getting my cardio used to doing some high intensity, and figure 100 minutes is a decent warmup.

Cycling 43:00 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (25:00 @3) + (13:00 @4)

Trainer watching Tom Boonen and a few others in the TDFlanders ride up the Konenburg (sp) while the entire rest of the pack had to walk up the 20 degree slope. In sympathy I really cranked it up the hills.

Workout # 1.

Between sets I did Range of Motion physio for bulletdog, and put the finishing touches on my ski-O map holder.

Easy trot home with T-dog. All the snow's melted into an icy base.

Easy commute in great conditions.

Note- I'm still a bit zonked from Saturday. After such a long period of level 1-3 training only, I really don't have my high gear any more, and it sure seems to take longer to get back than it did 20 years ago.

Good day for a handicap! I started out really tired and sore, but after yesterdays nav disaster I used conservative route choice, solid attack points and didn't make any nasty errors. The elites caught me from 2-3 but when my shoe came off I did the rest alone, which worked well. Ended up 5th.
