I don't know why, but my bum was killing me. The earlier four hour paddle was no problem. I wonder if it's because we had to get out a couple times; for this one, we never had cause to leave the boat.

This is a great section of the river (Placeway to the dam) - no houses, just a lot of downed trees on the downstream end. Those are easier to negotiate going upstream than down!

The end of the paddle was draining, but I perked up on the bike and charged around. I even managed to notice and hit both log piles on yellow. Hoo ah. This is the shortcut version of the yellow and blue loop, where you don't pass through the parking lot. I think the superstars do it in 45 minutes, wow!
