Northern Champs M21L - Routegadget

Legs weren't feeling too rested so the plan for this was to first, enjoy it, and second run a good technical race even if it meant I was slower.

Succeeded in enjoying it, really good course and the area was just amazing. It was like 3 completely different areas and you really had to change your technique between each one.

I want to be really critical when I look at my map reading over the next few months so I can polish up on my technique. So in terms of that, it didn't really go to plan. I was bad in the control circle to 1, 14 and 24. I made 2 route choice errors, the first on 23 when I should have gone right on the path and the second on 26 where I should have gone left up the marshes and under the cliffs. I also made a 2 minute mistake on 16 where I just lost map contact for a bit.

I lost nearly 5 minutes to number 5, but i'm honestly not worrying about it. I don't know if its how the maps printed but to me it still looks like a wooded hill (where in reality it was nearly all open) and it just completely put me off when I got to it. I did actually loop back round to have another go seen as I was primarily training and it was still pretty inaccurate on my second go.
