Sharon Woods.
Mostly a pretty good run:
Lost maybe 20-25 seconds moving control 2, which was at the SW Corner of the building instead of SE. That could have made a significant difference depending whether people approached along the S side or the N side. I came from the north and had a pause and WTF moment when I came around the E side to the SE corner. Paused to look at the description for the control that wasn’t there, then looked up and saw it at the far corner of the building. Grabbing it, bringing it back, then leaving to the west was costly.
Pretty clean through 7. Didn’t read the map carefully enough at 8, and ran past it, had to come back - maybe another 15-20 seconds lost. My own darn fault. I had been about to pass Peyton but he beat me to the control.
9 also was on the wrong corner of the building but it was a small building so I didn’t bother messing with it.
10, I made a good choice finding the “indistinct” path which actually proved to be pretty good, although not exactly as mapped, so I had to make a pretty good distance judgement to jump off if it and cross the creek. Met Dominic coming out of the control.
After 12, decided to take the path instead of cutting out to the road, and it worked out well, with a new path segment curving down to the clearing.
At 13, met a very lost Neivayah who was looking for her 7 (she was a long way off course), and spent another 20-30 seconds or so showing her where she was. She didn’t want to believe me and could not figure out how she got there - explanations which cost me more time. Took the road to 14, but should probably have tried the trail which would have saved distance and a couple contours of climb, but was afraid of how much I’d have to fight to get from the trail out to the road. Dylan Poe took the trail, Dominic (still a little ahead of me) took the road.
Probably should have used the road 15-16 but took the trail and open areas instead.
