Cycling (road) 2:07:04 [3] 28.42 mi (4:28 / mi) +1240ft 4:18 / mi

rode form home to cory's house to watch super bowl. kimberly joined for the first hour of ride. i had big pack on with shower stuff and clothes, light and battery, etc.

ended up feeling like shit after eating everything in my way while watching the pats fucking blow it. so i took a ride home from ellen. oh yeah it was close to freezing too and my toes weren't loving the way out, so it would have been a sufferfest in the dark on the way home.

Skiing (ski touring) 2:50:00 [3] 3.0 mi (56:40 / mi) +3100ft 28:38 / mi
slept:6.0

3.5 laps skinning up and skiing down without stopping at hyak w/copson. we skied until his legs couldn't handle it anymore. great time, saw haggis basher... bum knee and all ~ he was charging.

Running (trail) 1:30:45 [3] 10.5 mi (8:39 / mi) +1493ft 7:37 / mi
slept:6.0 shoes: 07 Highlander Black 8.5

since i was out in issaquah i figured i might as well hit the trail for a run. ran the SRC 10 mile loop from redtown trail. felt way better than i thought. the idea was to run on tired legs but they didn't feel tired. i focused on form and was just having a blast out there. did some pickups on a few small inclines and my body responded well. i think i ran the last few miles at slightly under race pace... grinning. after a while my right groin felt tight, but not bad.

Running (trail) 2:26:11 [3] 13.5 mi (10:50 / mi) +2067ft 9:27 / mi
slept:6.0 shoes: 06 Highlander Orange 8

the plan was 6:15am at justins, run the cougar 10 miler with him and tom then hope the pass was opened and head up to ski alpental. alarm didn't go off, got out after 8am for my own cougar 13 with some music. great run, took it pretty easy but felt great the whole time. some snow on the trail.

i90 wasn't open. i figured i'd give it until noon. headed to cory's to see if he would do poo poo chirico trail with me.

Hiking (trail) 1:12:00 [2] 4.0 mi (18:00 / mi) +1650ft 12:57 / mi
shoes: 06 Highlander Orange 8

still waiting on i90 to open talked cory into hiking chirico with me. pretty quick pace for the first 15 minutes then he slowed down. great to get out with him and chat.

Running (trail) 55:01 [3] 4.0 mi (13:45 / mi) +1650ft 9:53 / mi
shoes: 06 Highlander Orange 8

kept a good pace but had just eaten a late (3pm) lunch with cory. headed back for a run up chirico with a headlamp.

shoes: 07 Nitrus Blue 8.5

as my leg was going up over my bike i got a cancellation call from client. so headed out to tiger mtn w/kimberly pretty sure it would be crazy snowy. exit 18 ran up poo poo point to the view, then back down a bit of west tiger rr where we were basically post holing.. so we turned back down poo poo up section line, down nook, bus trail and back to High School trail via gass line tr.

everything felt good. i think i could feel the right hip a bit at the end, but it wasn't bad and it's fine now. that is great news.

Skiing (out of bounds resort) 3:30:00 [3]

skied whistler with ty gigg, jen segger's husband. he's bad ass. the day was unreal. just 2" of new snow but ty knows where the good secret stashes are. we skied out of bounds all day, ducking ropes. one shot where he was filmed for some video was this long waterfall with pillow drop rocks all the way down. amazing. the second time through we skied this wicked line from his movie. oh i could go on and on. it was nutters.

i skied the salomon wind storm. ugly top sheet but great ski - thinking about a new purchase but the black diamond verdicts are 4mm wider this year.... decisions decisions.

this trip to bc has absolutely re-ignited my passion for backcountry skiing. and so it begins... again...

Skiing (backcountry ski tour) 1:50:00 [3] 7.4 mi (14:52 / mi) +1969ft 11:52 / mi

good quick ski tour in squamish w/norm. garibaldi provincial park, the garibaldi mtns are awesome. we skinned up past the red heather hut to paul ridge. we made it to the hut in 55 minutes, then up the final pitch and down. snow was awesome, great turns but it always feels like too few. norm who was on his 21st backcountry ski touring day put me to shame once again. being on my 2nd i don't feel so bad though... he's fast, and these canuks are killing me softly!
