Macpherson with Milo - hot already at 8 am. Amazing how quickly the trails dry out when it it over 30 degrees. Alpine snow looks like it disappeared quickly too over the past week.

Bike 2:30:00 [3] 28.5 km (11.4 kph) +995m
shoes: RM Element

Solo rip on Frisby and UFC before it gets too busy. RCA just posted it is clear this afternoon so that should open the floodgates of riders. This morning I saw five cyclists and a couple hikers and had an uninterrupted descent for 95% of the trail. Rode the upper loop which required walking across a handful of snow patches.

UFC was fun - Element handled it better than I expected. Unit crew was out brushing the access road which looked like very hot work.

Hike 2:45:00 [1] 16.5 km (10:00 / km) +475m 8:45 / km

Eva Lake with Courtney and my parents. Milo stayed home as no dogs allowed on the National Park trails anymore. Quieter on the trail than a typical summer - no Europeans this year. Trail was quite dry - a week of warm weather really did a number on the snow that was here last time I was up on the summit. Suffered one injury on the hike when I caught my finger between two rocks while making a seat. Amazing how little force required and how quickly a subungual hematoma formed. Flowers are latethis year as only s a handful visible today.
6 PM

Paddle 55:00 [2] 6.5 km (7.1 kph)

Evening paddle on the Columbia with Courtney and Vikki. Steady pace for the most part.

Bike 50:00 [2] 7.5 km (9.0 kph) +255m

Mountain biking with my 65 year old dad. We rode all the easier trails near Griffith Creek and he did fine. He was cautious on the descents but if he actually mountain biked regularly he'd speed up quite a bit I think.
1 PM

Paddle 1:15:00 [2] 7.5 km (6.0 kph)

Took my parents for a paddle south of the Airport. They managed quite well despite being on fairly narrow boats. My mom fell in once and was a little stunned by the cold water. We crossed the lake and visited Begbie Falls. Lots of people out paddling from the same location.

Hike 2:30:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @1) + (1:30:00 @2) 9.0 km (16:40 / km) +850m 11:19 / km

Eagle Pass mountain with my parents and Courtney. Forecast was for morning fog clearing as the day went on. Unfortunately it was more like thick cloud and it didn't clear until later in the afternoon. We still had some decent views but not as good as it would have been five hours later. trail was super busy with at least a dozen cars in the parking lot. Very muddy in the alpine too. The new cabin on the summit is not something I approve of. Takes away from the summit experience and I don't understand how they will deal with human wast up there.
