Swim 25:00 [3] 1.0 km (25:00 / km)

Bikes and boats were packed up and ready for the trip home so we went for a swim in the morning. There was coral to be seen and some fish though poor visibility closer to shore (and most of the coral was bleached). My swim snorkel was leaking which was annoying and my right shoulder was bugging me. Not the best swim I've ever had...

Bike 1:30:00 [3] 12.75 km (8.5 kph) +415m

This seemed like the longest ride ever... I developed some sort of infection yesterday afternoon and had no appetite or energy. This morning the energy seemed a bit better but definitely not 100%. It felt like my ability to push beyond a steady pace was lacking and if I did push it really tired me out. Very hot as well so our climb had lots of stops to rest. CO was feeling worse than me (probably like I felt yesterday) so he had an even less pleasant ride. The climb and views on Las Minitas were great. The descent is OK - the other upper trails are more fun.

Paddle 45:00 [3] 4.5 km (6.0 kph)

Downwind session with Courtney. Had a few periods with consecutive bumps. It seems like that is often the case as the waves come in bigger sets followed by small waves for a while. Seemed busy near the end so stayed close to shore to stay out of the way of the other users.

Paddle 1:30:00 [3] 8.0 km (5.3 kph)

Ensenda de Muertos paddle. The wind seemed offshore which was different than I expected. We paddled across the bay and found a good snorkeling spot. Good visibility and a decent amount of fish. Courtney and I paddled along the coast for a bit extra while Mike continued to snorkel. Paddling back was hard work as the wind had picked up.

Bike 1:15:00 [1] 12.0 km (9.6 kph) +345m

Brook and Nico came out for another ride - we fit five bikes and people into the minivan and drove out to the northern trails. We climbed Pista Pista and did three different upper trails before doing a full descent back to the van. All the trails today were great (though Cascabel doesn't seem to exist anymore). Casual pace allowing for Nico to rest and catch up.

Bike 2:15:00 [2] 21.0 km (9.3 kph) +450m

First ride in El Sargento - we parked too low and then had to ride up some soft sand in the arroyo. Once on the trails they were reasonably firm though still some sandy sections. We started with a section of Mala Mujer and then across to Las Minitas and Nonato. Great trails that definitely seemed built for biking. Very nice views too... and not too much water damage (Nonato has the most). We continued north onto the Punta Gorda trail - at this end the trails were a bit narrower and overgrown which led to some scratched arms. We had a nice dip in the ocean at the beach and then biked back.

Paddle 45:00 [3] 4.5 km (6.0 kph)

Downwind session #1. Very impressed with how the Starboard performed.

Hike 1:15:00 [3] 5.5 km (13:38 / km) +335m 10:27 / km

Punta Lobos hike - I tried to convince Mike and Courtney to paddle this morning but they were nervous about the waves. Coincidentally there was another group with SUPs snorkelling...

The trail was quite nice though - narrow with nice views. Near the top it disappears in a talus field but it wasn't too hard to rock hop and find the connecting trail on the other side. We dropped down to the viewpoint and then retraced our steps.
3 PM

Hike 45:00 [1] 4.5 km (10:00 / km) +30m 9:41 / km

Hike from the rental place to the beach, along the beach, and back. The beach walk was rather challenging given soft sand and beach angle.
