Running 40:28 [2] 5.2 mi (7:47 / mi) +51m 7:33 / mi

Springwater Oaks Bottom Loop

Feeling ok. Body felt tired in bed in the morning, but I think it's just lots of little muscles that aren't familiar with biking from yesterday. Beautiful and sunny and everyone's gardens are beautiful. There are just flowers everywhere!

Drills 8:06 [2] 0.45 mi (18:00 / mi)

And drills. Gotta put these back into the mix!

Running 26:17 [2] 3.12 mi (8:25 / mi) +77m 7:49 / mi

And back home (shorter leg, but more uphill!) Then met with thesis students, because, well I worked from work in the afternoon. But also! I submitted a paper, wahoo!!

Wenzel Farm Egg-O

2.8k sprint course with 6 bonus 'egg-stops' to pick up whenever one deemed best. Kinda fun to have that added thing to think about! Brought thesis student/most keen o-convert Ross along too.

Ran past 2 initially, and was a little unsure of trails around 10. Also could not find egg stop #105 until I'd found 18 and had to come back to it. Not the ideal route, but can't really make sense of what the trails were doing right in that area.

Interesting steep hill of Baker Rock resources to the North, Google map looks like they also have excavations. And then to the south is apparently an airstrip, 'Pats Pasture'.

Cycling 56:49 [1] 15.28 mi (3:43 / mi) +81m 3:39 / mi

Still feeling good and a sunny nice day, so hopped on my bike for an afternoon ride on the bike path. Made it to Powell Butte and came back for ~15 miles. I may have signed up for a century ride that a bunch of other faculty are doing at the end of classes. So should spend a bit of time on a bike!

Aerobics 40:15 [1] 0.58 mi (1:09:26 / mi) +1m 1:09:03 / mi

Zumba with the gals. But instructor Vicki needs foot surgery! Her last class for a bit will be next week. Some good meetings with thesis students today. Definitely feeling better and better...

Running 29:11 [1] 3.17 mi (9:12 / mi) +66m 8:39 / mi

Cornered by a prospie immediately after lecture, so missed the lunch run group. But, perhaps a good thing, I got to run really easily on my own in the nice Sun, just enjoying all the wonderful flowers blossoming here there and everywhere. Hopefully coming out of the illness. Feel mostly good, but still gross phlegm.

Lecture today featured the two most important blackbodies in my mind: the very poor blackbody of the Sun (all those lines!) and the really perfect blackbody of the CMB. Latter was a good excuse to bring up entropy of the Universe. And then, onto relativistic gases!

Went to a math lecture on how origami beats Euclid's geometry in that it can both trisect the angle and double the cube. Fun talk, plus we got to do origami!

Strength 12:01 [1] 0.22 mi (54:38 / mi) +4m 51:43 / mi

12 min core, before heading out to a talk by Janine Antoni, which was awesome. She's an artist who is very interested in the connection between body and the process of creation of the art itself. Just neat. Yay for sculpture professor housemate giving me the nudge needed to go.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

Slept the whole 4h flight from Chicago -> Portland, so arriving home at 1am was really just a brief interruption in the night's sleep. But another fully day off to try to beat the illness. Feeling better than yesterday.
