Met up with 1L and MJ for an awesome run in the Rouge. After spending most of the weekend alone with my boys, I was really looking forward to this one, and it didn't disappoint. Trails were great, weather perfect, company was awesome, and the run felt really good. So glad trail running season is returning.

Only downside was getting in my car and remembering I had brought post run treats....after 1L and MJ had left. Doh!

Family life has made it hard to get any training in, so forced myself on the treadmill for a late one. With a longer run planned tomorrow I decided to go easier but play around with incline, HR, and form tonight. Warmed up at an incline of 12 for 10 minutes, then backed it down to 8, set the pace at 6.5km/h and tried different forms. Neat results.

~150-152 bpm jogging
~148-150 bpm jogging when focussing on good form (soft forefoot landing, chest forward, lean from ankles)
~142-146 bpm fast walking

I will have to get some more time speed walking on the treadmill at incline to see if this is consistent.

Solo Rouge run, and much longer than planned due to me taking the wrong trails....three times. I mean really, I have only run there around a dozen times in the last 6 months. At least I should know for next time.

Trails were in great condition, and about 90% ice free aside from some of the stuff in the north end. Muddy in places, but even that was fairly firm due to cooler temps today.

Physically did not feel stellar. Definitely need to ramp up some more long runs. May head back this Sunday afternoon if anyone is around and interested in a LSD.
