Nice little Durham ride with Simpy. Frikken awesome weather and my first good ride on single-track with the new bike. Felt good, although I still need to get use to the bigger wheels on some of the more technical parts. So far enjoying the 2x10 and never found myself wanting on the ride.
Followed it up by a pit stop at Hy-Hope farms to pick up some homemade butter tarts and strawberry-rhubarb pie for the BBQ at Simpys tonight....and an organic BBQed sausage on a bun for my lunch. :) Perfect long weekend day so far.

Wednesday night run with Simpy, which turned out to be great for an AR training session with some decent HTFU factor. We had talked before about connecting Seaton and the Rouge, so made a go of it tonight. However I was a bit apprehensive as I had been feeling super drained all day at work, and was dreading this run a bit before it even started.
Started with a run/bushwack down some hydro lines, which also included some marsh crossings. Ten minutes in I kind of felt bonkish, so started downing food right away and quickly became worried I would run out. Luckily we ran by a corner store, so we made a pitstop to pick up some supplies. After leaving the hydro lines we hit the road where we eventually connected mid-way through the Rouge run. Headed north through the Rouge, and popped out at the top where we ended up doing some more bushwhacking before resigning ourselves to the road. Took that over to the highway where we entered Seaton from the top. Felt good to know we were on the last section as the legs were already hurting. Maybe all the road...not sure.
Felt OK for the first part of Seaton, but we ran out of light at Forestream. The last 7km were tough. I had completely run out of water, and the legs were super heavy. Simpy put on some tunes, and both of us zoned out to the end.
Pretty sore by the time we got back to the car. Putting some fear in me about doing the Mohican in a month, so planning on getting some more big runs in before then. Almost feel like I am cramming for a test at this point.
Once again the GPS track is messed...dropping the hydro line run and first road rash. WTF.
Heading to Seaton with Simpy for our Wednesday night run. Going to try and do around 30km, starting at 5pm, and an easy pace. If anyone is interested in joining, let one of us know and we can provide a link to the school where we will start from.

Easy track run. Nothing intense, but hoping to just get more consistent running in.
