Gave my knee the day off.
I worked on the Covid Crusher, and decided to start filming a short video about building and riding it. I had to transplant quite a few trilliums that came up in the middle of the track, relocated an inconvenient little tree, and moved some deadfall. Rode it afterwards with the gopro.

Later Bash and I visited the Isolating Birthday Goose at a distance, then hiked Cold Creek with the dogs. We wore our Wild BOAR shirts from way back when we could have a proper birthday adventure race and party with friends.

Palgrave full tour with Bash. Bluebird day before bug season.

Trails are perfect, and the bike was handling well- I even made the final Z-turn on the end of Salty Steven for the first time ever on the Kodiak (make it about half the time on the BBW but the Kodiak always gets stuck).

Commute via singletrack both ways. Knee seems ok as long as I don’t crash and twist it again.

Note- re-tapped the broken steerer adjustment nut so the bars don’t touch my knees on tight turns- no more Mr Pither crashes.

Knee is getting better, but still hurts to kneel or squat down.

Got odd looks from some hikers as I was carrying a paddle I repaired for Goose to hand over at the office. Last time they saw me I had a bike wheel strapped on my back. Sigh.

Power-hiked to work with poles. Knee was OK with that, but glad I had the poles for the steep downhill.

Full workout 2 and rehab.
Went light on my left leg and it actually felt better after light mobilization exercise. It still feels weird though.
Also did a whack of lumberjack- split some huge logs and hand-sawed some broken limbs.

Palgrave with Bash.
First singletrack ride of the season, now that trails are dry and I have summer tires.
Very nice trail conditions, but we’re back to Pandemic Palgrave - tons of people out, including a big group of riders, so we decided to bail.

Note- I took a silly fall- caught my pant leg in the shifter on a tight turn and went down twisting my left knee. It felt weird later, after the ride, especially bearing weight past 90 degrees. Hope it’s ok.

Perfect day for riding, but my wheel was at work. On the way home I wore it on my back Captain America-style to run to Mr Biker’s place, much to the amusement of the local Palgravians. He was able to finally seat the tire for me, but it even took him 5 tries and 45 min. Whew.

I was hoping to mount my summer tire and ride, but spent the whole morning fighting with it to no avail. Used every trick in the book, including running to work with it and using the big compressor. Nada. I was hoping for a small victory.

I was at least able to get out and run the dogs before my commute. Ahh, I needed that.

Run with Tarno. He thought the usual Pretty River run wasn’t hilly enough (and was too busy) so we did the Collingwood Double and a half. Beautiful views, pretty muddy in places.

First long run of the year- my legs will feel this one.

Rode the rail trail from Thornbury to Meaford and back with Bash.
Nice to see a different section.
Legs were feeling the run already.

Yay, cold enough to bike both ways. Commute via singletrack, and first spring run of the Covid Crusher.
Don’t really need the studded Plus tires, but we still might get some ice so I haven’t mounted the summer rubber yet.
