Canoe trip with the Grant-Harrison and Smith-Lucente clans. (Actual times and photos to come)

Put in at Smoke lake, then Ragged-Big Porcupine- Bonnechere.
Tailwind and cool. The portages were fairly wet.
We scored the primo GaGa campsite on Bonnechere!

Note- ran back for double loads on portages- good WT training.

Took me forever to catch 2 casual riders at over 30kph- when I finally passed them (no helmets, flapping clothes, music playing) I saw they were on e-bikes.

Took the heavy boat for a jog hike up the Covid Crusher hill and around the F&M trail with an extra hill at the end. Beat up my shoulders now for less pain later in the season.

Took our whitewater canoe for a trot around the F&M loop right after I got of the bike. Hot, humid and poor air.
I ran into Mr Porkie, who was pretty startled to see a canoe come jogging down the trail!

SUP fail.
After much logistical complications to pick up the Tarno SUPs and stack ours on top of my van, we all headed to the Beaver. Unfortunately, after I removed the fin on Bash’s SUP under protest, I didn’t secure it fully and it sunk into the weeds shortly after launching. We couldn’t spot it after a lot of looking, but Jackie’s sunglasses followed it down. May need to return with goggles tomorrow :(

I paddled the finless SUP and we had a short but relaxing paddle.
We did have a very nice 3-dog full vax dinner after.

Pretty River with Tarno, Al and Ed.
Tarno and Al the pure climbers burnt off the peleton (Me and Ed) on the big initial climb, but I was able to break away in the Puncheurs technical section up top. Mix of easy and some up-tempo after that.

Morning loop with the boys. The big guy started off strong, enjoyed some bushwhacking, then sauntered the last km.

Tour de Kolapore and Duncan with Bash (GPS missed first half up to Dhaulagiri summit- will adjust from Bash’s numbers). Kolapore is super-lush, but the rocks were greasy and riding was trickier than usual. We did the climb up Mt D, then rode hilly gravel roads to a very AR ATV trail, complete with deep mud holes and some fdfs.
Back down and up the Duncan climb then home.

Hiked the hounds on a cool soggy morning over to the Gulch. The big guy was bursting with energy in the cool weather.

Beaver River with Goose and Coach LD. This time we did a car shuttle (gasp) and paddled 1 way downstream. And then had them over for dinner after! Double-vax shades of normal life.

Pretty river with Tarno- and Gally.
Tarno was flying up the hills today. Took me a while to warm up- just didn’t have it for the big first climb. Same route and time as last time.

Fixed the distance- my gps seems off- Gally and Tarno both got over 16k and a faster pace in the last third especially, which seems right as we were moving well.
