Adventure Racing race 5:11:00 [3]

FAC Deerhurst with Bash and Shifty.
I went in injured, we sat out a thunderstorm on the paddle for 10 minutes and dropped from lead pack to dead last, paddled back to mid-pack, rode up more in the pouring rain, Bash nailed all the nav on the trek, we spent 5 minutes talking down an irate landowner, Shifty's ITB seized up, our trekking bag with my poles and the next map didn't get moved and I had to use sticks, towing Shifty along a bit as Bash flitted lightly up the hills.

Shifty's a blast to race with, we held to our safety guidelines, my knee held out enough that I could tow on bike and foot a bit, Bash was fast and precise, and we got 2nd co-ed after all that happened.

All in all, a great day in the woods! So-o-o glad to be back racing.
As expected, our buddies Phatty Jr and RF got 1st overall and 1st co-ed.

Note

Couple days of resting the knee before FAC.

I'm going into spring in pretty lousy shape, thanks to this stooooopid knee.
6 months after trashing it (possibly at yoga, or maybe a trail run the next day), and I can still only run carefully for 30-45 minutes or pay for it for days after. I sure hope next week's tests show it's something that can be fixed surgically now, even if that's it for the season.

Cycling (Commute) 45:00 [2]

Easy commute with bulletdog- . Trip back by headlamp.

Note- No time for a longer ride as I had to get to downtown Toronto and back before work. Saw Billy again for my knee. He doesn't like how sore it is after a short race, so it's ultrasound and x-rays next.

Cycling (Commute +) 1:00:00 [2]

Easy commute and a ride down to Albion to help Bash herd cub scouts.
Actually, the 8 year old twins I was watching were awesome orienteers.
