Running 3:00:00 [3] 27.5 km (6:33 / km)
shoes: Cascadia 7

Mono Ciffs with Greg Y.
Supposed to be a light and easy run today. Fantastic cool weather , 24c and not humid, with lots of shade and some breeze. No thick overgrown trails and no FDFs either!

Bash suggested Mono Cliffs, and mostly flat-ish running with a few solid climbs. Felt great, fast and light all right. Yesterday's 3 hrs were brutal in the heat- this time I felt I could have run it again after.
I forgot my Garmin but we put the hammer down at the end and it felt good running in the 4s.

Nice beer after at the pub.
Note- got stung by a wasp at the pub, but no hives or reaction unlike last time.

Strength 20:00 [1]

Foothab, kneehab and some forest fit pull-ups.

Running 3:05:52 intensity: (36 @1) + (38:25 @2) + (1:48:15 @3) + (38:36 @4) 25.55 km (7:16 / km) +549m 6:34 / km
ahr:157 max:174 shoes: Hoka Mafate 2

Nasty hot and humid day- up to 35C.
Ran the Humber Trail from Bolton with Storm up to Albion. Bash started with us and turned around at the same time, finishing with us.

Good to have company, and we had a cooler with ice drinks at the 1hr & 2hr mark, thank god.
Worked very hard to not work very hard- kept a close eye on the HRM.

Despite the stuffy weather, it was great to run with Storm. The trail was incredibly overgrown in places, making walking mandatory to avoid turning ankles, but in the shade and breeze it was pretty good.

Drank 1/2L vitargo, 2.5L water, 2 salt caps, some chips and 2 small pepsi cans.

Note

From Bash's log, but worth reposting-Frankenjack is looking for a few more friendly volunteers to help with the Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race from Tobermory to Wiarton on Aug. 10. People with AR experience are particularly valuable for a few of the roles. Of course if you'd rather race, that's OK too. :) This race course runs through a rugged, beautiful part of Ontario that few of us know well, and the community support is incredible. Frankenjack and company treat their racers and volunteers well. More details from Frankenjack here.

I am usually the field bike mechanic, but can't make it this time.

Running 30:00 [2]

Easy run to work on another stinker of a hot day. Harps can have this weather.

Bazingadog found a way to beat the heat as we ran past the golf course:

Running 1:30:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon Crossmax Green

Easy run in the AM around the hilly forest trails- stuck to the cooler deciduous forest today. Even with an easier run and no hill intervals, I was drenched in the morning sauna heat.

Note- right forefoot is sore. Not bad when running but tender to press on. Possibly due to being out of practice with the minimalist shoes. Knee feels quite good, heels still a bit sore as always now. Iced everything well yesterday.

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Foothab, kneehab, and a pretty lethargic workout 2 +core.

Running 26:00 [2]
shoes: Cascadia 7

A little cooler at 9 PM.

Running 1:25:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka Mafate 2

Easy run in the morning heat, then extra Salty Stephen Singletrack home once the temperature had plummeted to 31C and humid. Good crop of FDFs out.

Cycling (commute) 52:00 [2]

Easy commute in.

Knee is quite good after Saturday's long run. Still feel both heels a bit but not too bad. I do have sore calf muscles from running in minimal shoes again, but that's supposed to be the trade-off- sore calves but happy knees.

Seemed to have thrown my stupid neck out though by sleeping on it wrong (or backing the car up)

Rode back in the heat under barrage of FDFs. No day for dogs to be commuting.
