Running 40:00 intensity: (20:00 @3) + (20:00 @4) 8.5 km (4:42 / km)
shoes: Brooks CP6 Green

Quick run with the biking teams to the start, and on the first km of the race, then a decent run back.

Hiking 30:00 [1]

Hill intervals of a sort- many repeats doing the scramble up to the pinnacle behind our CP to get cell coverage to update HQ by text. Fun to see the race from the POV of the hardest trekking CP.

Paddlng 2:00:00 [1]

Paddle and portage in and out of CP5 with Kait. Very nice paddle actually, and the CP was a spectacular campsite, with picture perfect weather for the race. Calm, warm in the day, cool and few bugs at night. I got about 2 hrs of sleep, and sadly missed team TA3 come through, but otherwise was fairly busy cheering and serving up cheese and crackers, cookies and fruit (while the grapes and strawberries lasted).

Running 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks CP6 Green

Short window in the life of a volunteer. Nice run on the ATV trails to the beach and back, then up the road to the Nottage and back to HQ at WT.

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Workout 1 plus core. *No* foothab/kneehab.

Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Hoka Mafate 2

Easy run to work. Foot felt OK in the Hokas, but I skipped hill training to be careful.

Running 30:00 [1]
shoes: Hoka Mafate 2

Easy night trot home with Bulletdog, who is enjoying the cooler weather.
Foot is OK in the Hokas.

Cycling (Commute) 54:00 [2]

Easy ride with the big guy, who pulled me along at almost 30kph for the first 400M then settled in nicely.

My foot's still too sore to run, but was OK in bike shoes, either granny-gear up the hills or dog-powered.

Note
(rest day)

Woke up last night with a really sore foot, right on the toe fracture.
Not sure if it was the foot/kneehab or if I bumped it while sleeping.
Took an Advil and got back to sleep (Thanks Bash for room service)

Sunday Aug 11, 2013 #

Running 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks CP6 Green

Nice cruise run around Palgrave with Goose and Bazingadog.

Strength 30:00 [1]

Chopped more logs, then some foot/kneehab. Skipped the toe-engaging foot exercises.
