Cycling 1 [3]

Off to Albion for a nice ride, testing out some new bling idlers.
Great traction in bone dry conditions.

I got off in a section of pine singletrack where there had been a blowdown to move a log, and thought I was suddenly swarmed with FDFs. Then I thought I was in stinging nettles, until I noticed the FDFs were ground wasps and they were all over me. I ran off, but had to dash back into the angry swarm to get my bike. I got hit at least 4 times, and decided to pull the plug and head home in case I get an allergic reaction again.

Paddle- out day. Back to the long portage from Louisa to Rock lake. I dropped off my boat and pack and ran back- felt like I was running in lunar gravity by comparison.
Good teamwork qnd organization and we made short work of the portage, even with Teeny Tiny and AD.
Back to Rock Lake campground for another swim, then back home via Kawartha Dairy and AO.

Fantastic trip, Teeny and Adventuredog were both rock stars. Perfect weather- no rain, not humid or super-hot, few bugs, great food, lots of relaxation and swims. Can you ask for better?

Paddlng 1:30:00 [2]

More easy day tripping, hanging around camp reading in hammocks, swimming, throwing sticks for Adventuredog, and sunset paddles.

I like the quiet time at dawn when I'm the only one up, and the coffee is on.

Paddlng 2:00:00 [2]

Day trip paddling. So nice to be touring around, then back to the camp to watch Chef Timato construct biscuits or pizza from scratch, then go for a swim.

A+ conditions yet again.

Up to Algonquin with the Tiny clan (Timato, MsTiny and Teeny Tiny) along with Logan the Adventuredog and Bash all piled into the van.
We paddled from Rock Lake, and did the 3k portage to Lousia Lake. AD and Teeny were great on the portage, on their first trip.
Perfect weather- not too hot and very few bugs.

We paddled around Lousa until we found a campsite with a nice swimming rock. Turns out AD is the perfect canoe tripper dog. He leaps in and out of the boat like an antelope, is perfect in the boat, doesn't leave camp, doesn't steal food p, run off after animals or get into trouble, and is quiet as a mouse. He swims when you throw sticks, but otherwise is amazingly calm.

We went for a sunset cruise as well.

Running 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Altra Lone Peak 2.5

Easy run to work with AD. He was none to happy to be sprayed down pre-run, but was nice and cool on a hot day. We took some shady berry-picking breaks too. This is about the limit for the pooch unless there's some frequent swimming involved.

Easy trot home in the dusk. Cooler and less FDFs, but still a warm one. AD had a good swim.
