Training Log Archive: 'Bent

Log Run 2019. Chris Laughren turned 43, so we had to join him.

There were multiple groups- the 43k runners would meet the 21k runners, and then meet the 10.
Great running with a strong group along the Bruce trail. At the 21k stop at Mt Nemo we waited a bit for the second group, only to hear they’d taken off about 20 min earlier, so no easy group trot.

I had been feeling strong, but my hamstring and knee suddenly got nasty around the 35k mark and I started to slow down. Luckily I ran into Bash, and we ran together to the end. I was pretty sore and tired after.

Great party after at the Orange Snail brewery- music, beer, pizza, friends.

Tomorrow’s Egg Nog Jog may be a train wreck. Serves me right for running with the young kids without training long runs.

Easy workout 1 with rehab, and also tobogganed a monster load of logs 1/2 km from Thinker’s hill over hill and dale, then split them.

Tracks are icy and quick today.

Snow is still holding out. Skin skis are quick on the packed trails, and the tracks are still almost intact.

Oh-oh, my Saucony Razor Ice shoes arrived, and they’re too small.
Looks like the 10 I read on the faded label of my other pair was UK. They fit small, if you want warm socks in them.

Anybody here wear a size 9-9.5 and need some great snowshoe running shoes?

They’re ok for trails, but only moderate tread.

Yet another excellent ski with the little guy.

Woo hoo, fresh powder over an icy base. The big boy was a little less frisky today but still a great ski in. Wonderful night ski home.

Pretty River with Tarno, STORM, Gally and 4 dogs. Excellent run in a skiff of snow. Glad I had spikes, as the big boy likes to set a solid pace on tricky ground.
