Biking 37:23 [3] 5.87 mi (9.4 mph)
weight:227.8lbs shoes: WeeHoo

On the worst bike in my fleet with 35 lbs of kid and a tag along...this is more work than it looks like. Misjudged time, but did still get to chat with Ken after some of the races.

Harvey took his upright radio flyer trike. He had ridden it a bit yesterday, so it seemed promising, although oddly his hands got cold and I had to push a bit. It has a push bar, but the steering is super vague (a tremendous amount of lash), also like all products with push bars, it's 2" too low to be comfy.

Biking 8:27 [3] 1.05 mi (7.5 mph)

I somehow forgot to put beef broth on the shopping list.

Biking 4:15 [3] 0.44 mi (6.2 mph)

Test ride. It is in many ways imperfect, but I don't need it to be perfect for its job (keep my steel bike off salty but otherwise ridable roads, also handle gravel duty for the foreseeable future). I stared at it for a bit and the guy knocked off another 15%, placing it slightly above my buddy's new flat pedals, so I tossed it in the Subaru.

Up to Northville for dinner bread and break in the new whip. They have a cheddar garlic loaf that has huge amounts of cheddar visibly in it, like marbled through it.

To be done:
* rotate bars down
* fix front d shift range
* order some new brake pads
* add another bottle cage

No rush on any of it, it's tolerable now, just a bit mash-y going up hills in the big ring.

Left intending to be easy mileage, but the tailwind pushed me so nicely I was on a it a little. One of the better paces for this type of route.

So many terrible drivers

Five reps of Cass Benton hill (about 2:20 per at current climbing power)

Would have been peppier with a little more sleep, but I did some extra wind down time after an evening with plugged sinks, playgrounds, early daughter pickups and rainstorms.

Note

Billygoat is roughly the west most it's been that I recall.

1st 1k miles of 2021: 3 months
2nd 1k miles of 2021: 6 months

Here''s to 1k more in the next 4 months.

Pace somewhat slowed because I took the multi user path up to Northville. They are nice, except they pour them so thin that any twig of a tree that looks at them gives them a huge heave. Also all the bridges were slick since it rains nightly this summer.

Lazy but done! At first I thought I was doing well after yesterday, then it turns out it was a nice tailwind. Saw daughter rolling to work so I detoured over and chatted a little.
