Portage, WI. The National Guard had a 1/2 mile and mile marked on the I-39 east side frontage road going north from their Portage base. I ran mostly the frontage road, plus looped around motel & church, total was about 50% grass & gravel, 50% paved. 1 mile race-pace in 7:14 ( halfs in 3:43 and 3:31), the rest at 8:30 - 9:00 pace (recorded half miles at 4:20, 4:21, 4:15) distance approximate.
