Sunday Mar 10 #

9 AM

XC skiing 26:16 intensity: (12:18 @1) + (13:58 @2) 3.6 mi (7:18 / mi) +134m 6:32 / mi
ahr:123 max:148

This was actually after the coaching - Sylvia was willing to play in the snow with friends and let me do intervals, so long as I came and said hello to here each lap. Skate race in 2 more weeks!

XC skiing 40:00 [1]

Kiddo practice in the on and off snow. Focus of the day: double pole. Plus we played on the 'jump' - although not many were confident to take the little lip fast enough to actually be a jump, so it was more a test of can you stop and turn at the bottom of a steep little hill. And that's good practice too.

Took the fastest group out the black diamond Vista Ridge to get our checkpoint of the day - was a new trail for *all* of them! (We didn't actually get to the part that makes it a black diamond, but I think they were proud of themselves anyways!)
1 PM

Running 30:05 intensity: (35 @1) + (29:30 @2) 3.16 mi (9:31 / mi) +47m 9:06 / mi
ahr:139 max:149

Was bummed to not get a run in yesterday, so snuck one in today. Then, started doing taxes. Not a simple year living in two states and renting our house out and Tom having a side gig, but I think I've got it...

Note

First DH ski of the season with S at Summit!! Think we got in 7 runs. She seems perfectly comfy on all the trails there - greens and an easy blue. Hopefully we'll get up a bit more during spring season season to make having got a pass worth it! Her friend Roxy and my friend Sarah joined us after the first hour. And cool thing - the 6 year olds went up together on the double chair and no mishaps!! (Should point out there is no safety bar on this chair, because it is the Wild West out here...)

Trail running 29:53 intensity: (15 @0) + (8:41 @1) + (20:57 @2) 2.71 mi (11:02 / mi) +56m 10:22 / mi
ahr:128 max:146

Legs were very iffy all week - Tuesday's run made certain things more sore, probably because my stride was wonky from the muscles that were sore from the 20k. Almost headed out Thurs, but just felt like I might injure myself. So an easy (and beautifully sunny!) run in the canyon on Fri, after class for the day - spring break had started and it felt like it!

Tuesday Mar 5 #

8 AM

Running 1:05:56 intensity: (37 @0) + (6:34 @1) + (51:09 @2) + (7:36 @3) 7.93 mi (8:19 / mi) +2m 8:18 / mi
ahr:140 max:155

Legs are still pretty ouchy from Sat, but at least could support my weigh to run. So a run with Lauren at Nike World HQ - she did a 3 mi tempo at 6:30ish, which there was just no way I could do on these still DOMS-y legs, so jogged and stretched instead.

Good to get in, hopefully some intervals up sometime soon to help get some more fitness back!
