Running 3:35:32 [3] 19.2 km (11:14 / km) +976m 8:57 / km
shoes: Altra Lone Peak 2.5

Pretty river with Bash. Mucky, muggy and very buggy when we started out, then someone threw a switch and the bugs vansihed and the sun came out.
Slippery footing meant we didn't go all that far, but got some long sustained climbs in.
We discovered that winter snowshoe trails can turn into summer swamps, so we mainly ran the Bruce.

Cycling 2:15:00 [3]

Great ride down to Albion, around my favourite bits, then up to Palgrave and around the outer loop.

Used the new shock mount, and Andy (who repairs cars in Palgrave) even machined me some titanium bushings to go with the mount! Turns out he's a mechanical genius who can machine anything in his spare time.

I rode all the hits that broke the old mount- no problem.

Strength 15:00 [1]

Leg rehab

Note

Took the injured Bazingadog for a nice slow leash-walk, then a trip to Casa del BGY for a swim in the pool, followed by treats from Manisa. He refused to leave, and was quite vocal about staying for more snacks.

He was one happy camper after, even though he was a bit sore.

Running (Tire schlep) 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Altra Lone Peak 2.5

Took BZdog for a warmup, then I took AD and Schlep the tire for a tour of Palgrave East. Schlep's good at turning hills into mountains, and AD terrorized the local rodent population.

Cycling 50:00 [3]

Biked in with AD. The big boy was not amused to be left home *again*.
Night ride home only needed the light for the last bit.

Note

Good thing I had my bike lights- the operating light in one of my rooms blew out, so I velcroed the light on and taped on the battery so my hygienist could work. We ran it half the day.

Cycling 1:10:00 [2]

Commute with AD, and back the long way avoiding poison ivy.
Nice and cool for the little guy. The big boy is on the injured list, and was none to happy to be left out.

Strength 50:00 [2]

Workout 2 and rehab. Not a lot of oopmh.
9 AM

Running 22:09 intensity: (7 @3) + (22:02 @4) 5.09 km (4:21 / km) +4m 4:20 / km

MADD 5k. Tired and sluggish when I got up in the morning, and 5k road isn't my thing, but Coach Jeff helps put this on with MADD so a lot of us running or walking had lost loved ones to drunk drivers.

Managed to trot along OK, even got 3rd male but a lot slower than 5k splits I've had in other runs. Still, after all the shuffling in the last few months I'll take it.

Didn't wreck anything, so Italy is looking good despite a lack of volume .

Tons of volunteers, huge swag bag, shirt, auction, lots of post-race food. I guess the cause brings in great sponsors.
